If there is one thing that I have learned during this pandemic, it is that I have a lot of control over my time and how I choose to perceive things. In the beginning everything was so rushed and urgent that I put my needs and my children’s needs to the side to help the greater good. I woke up and got started at 7am and in a blink of an eye it was 5pm. Many weeks later with a new feeling of normalcy, I look around and enjoy the birds eating bugs in my grass. I watch the trees flower and then sprout new leaves. I see my kids growing taller and older each morning. I enjoy a lunch time walk with my mother. This time, although crazy, has taught me to give myself permission to stop and enjoy the little things that I didn’t have time to notice before. I am thankful to have that time to reflect on my life and how I choose to live it.
